Elizabeth Mary Gessert passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, February 27, 2013, at the young age of 58. She was a resident of Wadsworth, Ohio and journeyed to heaven in the comfort of her own home of 23 years. Her year and a half long battle with cancer was heroic and inspiring.
Beth was born two minutes after her twin brother, Daniel Gessert, on March 3, 1954 in New York City to Robert Gessert and Catherine Gwosden. Years after Beth's arrival into this world, she became a big sister to Meg Kempe, Caroline Hurwitz, Pamela Zocchi, and David Gessert.
Family was Beth's top priority as she raised three grateful and loving children, Justin Stine (Jessica), Emily Stine (Greg Kelsey) and Sarah Stine MacLarren (Nick). Each are surrounded with the continuous love of their father, Larry Stine.
Beth was blessed with the gift of a helping hand, so a lifelong career as an Intensive Care nurse was the perfect fit. She was wonderful at her job because of her ability to selflessly care for those in need both at work and in her personal life.
Beth was not only the sweetest woman but also very creative, stylish and spunky. She loved making beautiful jewelry, decorating, finding beach glass on the shores of Topsail Island, NC and above all else, instilling love into her children. Our hearts are saddened with the loss of a mother, friend, sister, daughter, twin, aunt, and more but are warmed with the faith of heavens gates welcoming Elizabeth into her forever home.
Services will be held at Crossroads Community Church located at 700 Gates St., Doylestown, Ohio on Saturday, March 2, 2013. We invite friends and family to celebrate the wonderful life of Elizabeth with calling hours from 1-4 p.m. and a memorial service to follow.
